Ring Swing

The object of the game is for a player (or players) to reach a set number of points first to win.

Style of play varies based on scoring selection and how many ring swing sets you have.

Scoring options:

  • Option A: Players receive 1 point each time the ring lands on the hook. Determine number of points needed to win prior to start - we suggest 5, 7, or 11 points depending on skill level!

  • Option B: Players receive 1 point each time the ring hits the hook and makes a “ting” sound and 3 points each time the ring lands successfully on the hook. Player wins when they reach 21 points.

Style of play:

If you have one ring swing:

Each player takes a turn, which consists of 5 swings. After 5 swings, the next player gets a turn. Be sure to select scoring option from above prior to the start to determine who wins!

If you have two or more ring swings:

Start with the same number of people on each team to play relay style. When ready, both teams start at the same time trying to land the ring on the hook. When a player  lands the ring on the hook , the next player on that team goes, repeating the process until all players on one team have successfully gotten the ring on the hook before the other team.

You can use this same format for “head-to-head” style with only 2 players. Each player stands at a ring swing and competes until they have won based on the scoring option you select!

Another option is to play for a pre-determined number of minutes and see who has the most points (based on selected scoring option) at the conclusion of that time period. Try 5 minutes to get warmed up or 2 minutes for a lightning round!
